This year I had fun in my art class with my teacher Mr. Renner. Sometimes it was fun and when I was lazy I would see it boring and that it was too much work. But as the months went by art class was getting funer and funer. When I first stepped into Mr. Renner’s class I thought his class was going to be boring. I thought we were just going to draw in their in which I was wrong. I discovered that class brings out peoples talents and most of all its just a class were you can show to the rest of your classmates your style and taste whenever were doing projects. The best thing out of this class is that all we do it meant for us to have fun.
In that class I had 3 favorite projects. Projects that made me have to focus in order for it to come out right. The 1st completed project from this semester was the booklet. We had to make a book out of papers we had to sow them together once we did we had to connect the papers and sow that together once again. Then we had to get a piece of cardboard and super glue it to the paper making it the cover of the book. It might sound easy but it took around 3-5 days. Then we would just get construction paper and make a cover out of it. The 2nd project I completed this semester was the distortion grid drawing. In this project we had to pick a picture out of a magazine and draw it in a white paper sheet. In the white paper we had to draw rows and columns and number them in order to know what to draw in each box. This project was challenging for me because I chose a girl and her hair is everywhere it was difficult but Mr. Renner helped me finish it and motivate me to keep on going that I was almost finished and so I did. The last and final project I did this semester was the collage. Basically what we did was put pictures it could be random or related to each other and choose a back ground. I did mine showing that girls rule the world weather it was our way or the high way.
Some similarities of these projects are that they all made me think and want to bring the best out of me. Show my classmates what I can do. They all took at least 2 days or sometimes even more. The collage and the grid I was trying to use my mind to make up something new. The book is similar to the collage and the grid because they all involve pictures. After we were done with the book we had to make it our own style and place in pictures. Their all considered art. They were all for grades. We did it in class.
Some differences are that the grid your are using one picture while the collage your using several pictures to make one. The grid took more time and patience to create while the collage was easy and finished it in one day. The booklet took different skills to make it.
These 3 projects were fun made me think and made me want to do them perfect. It was fun. They all made me realize how good and talented I was. At first I was scared to show my drawings to people because I didn’t know weather they were going to like them or not. Once Mr. Renner told me they were improving each time it made me want to draw even more and challenge myself. That’s when I realized I could draw. Don’t get me wrong though im neither an artist nor can draw like one but it was actually pretty good. This year I had fun in art class because we did more then draw we did piñatas, projects, etc. Projects that made you think. Overall I think this class was the coolest out of all my classes because we would actually have fun. I know I improved in my drawing skills because of Mr. Renner if he wouldn’t have encourage me to keep trying and not give up I know I would’ve stopped trying and I wouldn’t even bother to try.
